One desk handles enquiries for this site. Reach us on WhatsApp at +62 811 3823 875 or by email at sales@komodoluxury.com. Tell us which of four things you need — a build specification, supervision of a build, a haul-out and refit window, or filming access — and include the detail listed below so the first reply is useful rather than a request for more information.

What to include, by enquiry type
Commissioning a new vessel
Intended use — private, liveaboard, charter or cargo. Target length overall and guest or cabin count. Cruising area and intended flag. Target date the vessel must be earning or in service. Whether you need hull only or a complete vessel including machinery and interior. Background is on commissioning a build, and the choice behind the brief is discussed in three business cases for one hull.
Supervision of a build already under way
Where the vessel is, what stage it has reached, whether a written specification exists, and what has already been paid against which milestones. Engagement before the shell closes is materially more useful than after — see newbuild supervision.
Haul-out and refit
Vessel length overall, beam, draught and approximate displacement. Age and build location if known. Date of the last haul-out. Known problems — weeping seams, soft spots, fastening failure. Your available window. Note that this desk coordinates new builds and supervision; haul-out and refit enquiries are passed to the ecosystem’s dedicated repair channels.
Filming, stills production and drone work
Output and client, shooting dates, crew size, whether drones are involved, and whether you need people or specific vessels on camera. Requirements and etiquette are on the photography and filming page.
Response times and what happens next
Enquiries are answered from Indonesia, so allow for the time difference if you are writing from Europe or the Americas. A first reply will normally either answer your question or tell you what additional information is needed to answer it — we would rather ask two questions up front than send a quotation built on assumptions.
For a build enquiry the sequence after first contact is a specification conversation, then a written specification, then a quotation against it. We do not issue a figure before the specification exists, because a price quoted against an imagined vessel is not useful to either side. That reasoning is set out in commissioning a build.
For a haul-out or refit enquiry the sequence is different: an indicative window and an estimate first, then confirmed scope and price after the hull is out of the water and opened up, because a wooden hull cannot be fully assessed while afloat.
Before you write
Most questions that arrive here are already answered on the site, and reading first usually produces a faster and more useful exchange. The FAQ page covers visiting, build duration, timber, contracts and registration in short form. The build timeline covers scheduling, and the about page covers what this desk does and deliberately does not claim.
Visiting
You do not need to contact anyone to visit. Tana Beru is an open working shoreline with no ticket booth and no gate; walk in, arrive in the morning, and read the visiting guide first. Contact us only if your visit has a commercial purpose — inspecting a vessel, evaluating the yard before commissioning, or filming.
Which entity you will be contracting with
The desk is one contact point; the contract depends on the service class:
- PT Komodo Galangan Nusantara — construction, repair, refit, vessel sale, newbuild supervision
- PT Komodo Vessel Management — technical and commercial vessel management, crew and operations, maintenance planning, owner reporting
- PT Komodo Bahari Nusantara — brokerage, central agency, charter marketing, commercial representation
Separate contracts, separate fees, separate ledgers.
Location reference
Tana Beru, Kecamatan Bonto Bahari, Kabupaten Bulukumba, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Roughly 12 km from Tanjung Bira and around 175 km from Makassar — routes and travel times are on the access page.
